Artifact Hunting is based loosely on the idea that there is a good amount of hidden “junk” around the game that, if sought after, is worthwhile to the player. These can be simple salvage sites or industrial dumps, or more serious infestations of a particular kind of bot in an area, all the way up to truly dangerous - and rewarding - stashes of loot from “Observer” super-NPCs.

Primarily money. The owner receives a certain rate of money each time a transaction is completed on that outpost, be it a repair cost, a market usage fee, or a manufacturing cost. The second benefit is fame of course. Show your rivals that you can maintain an outpost!

All CT's are either found (in the case of Mk 2 robots, via artifact scanning), or are made by players. They have three attributes worth mentioning:

	* The type of item the CT represents and will help create
	* The material efficiency of the CT - how much additional material will be required beyond “perfect” construction
	* The time efficiency of the CT - how much additional time will be required beyond “perfect” construction

Making commodities is the first step in industry. There are two methods to do so. Both methods rely upon a person's standings with the outpost the work is taking place in, as well as the level of the facility the work is taking place in. The higher the standings, and the higher the facility's level, the better results you will get. (A facility's level can be determined by holding the cursor over the button for that facility in the Outpost - I, II, or III will be displayed.…

The Dead Parrot Shoppe [FOOM] began official activity, as a corporation, in Perpetuum on 5/4/2011. FOOM had been keeping an eye on Perpetuum before that, and several members joined the game shortly after it's release. After a couple weeks, the members decided the game still required some work before it would be viable for the entire corporation. Nearly six months later, another scouting attempt determined that the game was ready for FOOM.

The basic formula for signal detection appears to be:

(Detection Strength)/(Masking Strength) * 1000 = Range of Detection (meters)

Signal Amps and Signal Maskers can modify your robots base scores. However, as these are very cap intensive modules it is unlikely to have them in anything smaller than a mech. Possible, yes; likely, no.

Extensions play a significant role in character development. Since an Agent character is a virtual form, personal development can only be possible through installed programs, or as they are officially called: extensions.

Every time you install a new extension, or upgrade an installed one, your remote-controlled avatar will be more professionalized in that activity. Learning a new ability is an instant act. You click on the install or upgrade button, you own the extension.

Skills Involving General Production:

	* Intensive Mass Production (10): This skill allows the player to add more things to each build cycle. As each CT degrades with each cycle, the ability to make more with each cycle is a great bonus to production efficiency, and it allows more rapid production. Get to 10 as soon as reasonable.

Some of the most critical choices you can make in the game are the very first mouse clicks you make. Much like other MMOs, Perpetuum's character creation system dictate a large number of future activities you can do. Therefore, it is critical that anyone making a character understand what they want to do in the game with this character. Specialization is required or your character will be hampered in its ability to train new skills.

It’s been 300 years since the renegades breaking away from the Empire founded their own state. The workers of the Pelistal Empire’s industrial plants and the outcast mercenaries formed an effective army that soon achieved military victories.

Prototyping requires research on kernels acquired primarily through destroying NPC robots - a process that is not without considerable risk, as well as time expenditure. Prototyping is best heavily researched before embarking on that course of action. Prototyping on its own is decidedly unprofitable; it is the means to generate the ability to create CT's.
